We ended up buying this about a month or two ago and I don't know how I did without it.  I had a MicroTek for about five years and finally threw it away.  The Epson is amazing, I have so many boxes of slides that it's not funny and this scanner does and AMAZING job scanning them that you can't even tell that it was a slide.  You can also do negatives but I haven't tried that yet.

You can scan more than one picture at a time and it's smart enough to know there's more than one there.  So you can kill a couple of birds with one stone.  The really nice thing is that it's really user friendly.  I remember that the MicroTek took forever to warm up.  This does not because it has an LED light instead.  This also has an ON/OFF switch too which is nice.

To help with the slides I do take a can of compressed air to clean it a little since they have been in a box for over 20 years.  What better way to preserve your pictures and slides than to scan them with this easy to use scanner and make them last forever and not to ever be scared of losing them.  The process is so painless that my three year old can do it.  It's just all at your finger tips quick and quiet.

So if you're in the market for a new scanner, splurge a little and buy this one because it really will make your life easier and less stressful knowing that your pictures and slides are safe forever!!
