I hated our other trash can since the springs kept coming off and the whole thing was just a cheap piece of crap.  So after we got the house we're in now, we wanted a new trash can and we bought this one.  I know, it costs $39.99, but remember that when you use the Bed Bath and Beyond or Linens and Things coupons you get to take 20% off.  After playing with it for a good 15 minutes we decided to buy it.  We had it for quite a few months and then it broke.  You see with this trash can you have the ability to lock the trash can so the kids can't get into it.  I think someone locked the trash can and also stepped on the foot pedal and one side of the pedal broke.

We lived with it like that for a little while but was tired of not being able to use the foot pedal anymore.  We were able to take it back to Bed Bath and Beyond for an exchange.  The trash can other than it breaking where it did, really is a nice can.  You can move it a little ways away from the wall and you can have it prop open, you can use the foot pedal to open it and as it closes it won't ever slam down.  It closes slowly and nicely because of simplehuman's lid shox suspension, it will never slam.

I use Glad bags with the trash can because they still fit.  Their bags are a lot more expensive for how little you get but at least they were smart and made it able to use regular old trash bags.  Yes it broke once, but I was able to exchange it.  Yes it is expensive for being a trash can but it is a heavy duty plastic and it doesn't absorb any odors caused by garbage.  It's just really a nice little trash can that's not an eye sore to look at and the way it was designed that you can actually use the foot pedal without it feeling like it's going to fall over.  At least go and play with it at B3 and decide for yourself.

I really like simplehuman because they make stuff where you really don't spread germs.  The trash cans you don't have to touch and soap pumps with sensors.  I don't like people touching my stuff and if I can minimize that then I will.  Really, go look and play with their stuff and decide for yourself.
