We were able to find the Wii Fit on Craigslist a few weeks ago and we all put a profile on it.  It's a little above my five and three year old but it was worth a shot.  To begin first make sure that you have a Mii made and then you can add your Mii to the Fit profile, if you have friends coming over you can use Trial for them.  As you set up your profile, it asks you your height, age, how heavy your clothes are so it can take into account your weight.  To be able to graph yourself with your progress, you just stand on the Balance Board and point over the Body Test.  You'll do an initial balance test when you start out and with that and taking your BMI (Body Mass Index) into account you'll be given a Fit Age.  Right now my Fit age is 31.

The board helps you find your COB (Center Of Balance) as you progress.  As you work out with the Fit I have found that I try to balance myself throughout the day.  I see that I'm doing better with my balance because I'm just barely to the left.  But you can see where you need to start focusing.  I pretty much stick with the Yoga, Aerobics with a little bit of Balance Games, I'm not doing the Strength Training yet because I don't feel comfortable with my stoma to be doing those yet.

As you spend time on the Fit, you unlock more of it.  You are given a Fit Bank that keeps track of the amount of time you have spent on the game.  With the more time spent on it, the more areas are unlocked.  At first my favorite game was Ski Jump under Balance Games.  Now I mainly use it for Yoga.

If you love Yoga, this is for you.  I always thought I was doing postures OK and with the Balance Board it helps you figure out how to do it correctly.  Just so you know, to be considered in a "Straight Line" your toes should point a little inwards.  Yes it feels funny but after a while of doing the poses that way, you actually feel more strong.  I have improved a ton with Warrior pose, I was pretty good but now I'm way better.  The one I want to unlock badly is the Downward Dog, that one I really question my posture on.

So in Wii fashion, you don't just sit there when you play your games and you really get in shape and have fun with this one.  It says that kids 2 years old and older can do it but I think really it maybe closer to 7 or 8 years old.  Either way it's fun for the whole family and it's easier than going to the gym.

I would recommend using a mat with the Wii, especially if you're doing the Strength and Yoga so you don't slip.  Have fun getting Fit and enjoy!!
